Steven is happily married and proud father of 3 beautiful girls aged 19, 17 and 11. Steven is known to everyone as “Spud”. Spud enjoys spending his spare time with his family. He loves riding motorbikes with his girls and his mates. Waterskiing and wakeboarding are other favourite pastimes for Spud and his family. He is also an avid car enthusiast who enjoys restoring and taking pride in his vehicles.
Spud has come from the mining industry and was an underground coal miner. He has a Certificate IV in Safety in Underground Coal Mining. Working in such a diverse work environment and being able to converse at all levels is very important for communicating whilst in such a dangerous workplace.
He has taught both his daughters, and both of the girls passed first time in a manual vehicle, with excellent results. Patience with his own children was very important for Spud to ensure they were able to learn to be safe and responsible drivers. Spud is very easy going and makes learning to drive a fun and relaxing experience. Helping people who find driving a nervous experience, is something Spud is passionate about and wants to ensure that any learner driver can overcome their fears to become safe and confident.

Spud instructs in his own automatic vehicle but can also instruct in a manual where the student has their own registered, roadworthy and fully insured vehicle. If using your own vehicle, students must complete at least one driving lesson with a Learn Drive Survive Driving Instructor and have 20-30 hours or more of supervised driving.

5 Star Rating

I really enjoyed my lesson with Spud, he knew what he was doing and communicated clearly, definitely a good experience and a good way to learn how to park properly and other important things before my Ps test. He's a good guy and I would recommend him because he has made me feel confident I can perform well in my test.
